Lipotropic injections are an injection of a group of compounds that are safe and boost your metabolism, give energy when reducing caloric intake, and when used in diet plans it initiates and enhances additional weight loss. They can help your body prevent the buildup of excess fat in the liver. These compounds can be delivered via oral drops, but Dr. Shakov prefers the injections.
What makes up a lipotropic injection?
Methionine: An essential amino acid that prevents the possible build-up of fat in arteries within the body while breaking down fat deposits. Methionine can also aid in the detoxification of the liver and is helpful in relieving or preventing fatigue.
Inositol: A carbohydrate that converts fats into other useful forms of energy and assists in establishing healthy cell membranes. Inositol interacts with the neurotransmitter serotonin that helps control mood and appetite.
Choline: An essential nutrient that is required for transport and metabolism of fat and cholesterol in the body. Choline is critical for normal cell membrane structure and function, memory and a healthy nervous system.
Other common ingredients include B vitamins and L-Carnitine. Vitamin B1 (Thiamine): serves as a catalyst in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins. Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin): assists in metabolizing fats, carbohydrates, and protein. Vitamin B3 (Niacin): assists in the breakdown of nutrients into a release of energy. Vitamin B3 also can help reduce cholesterol levels for patients. Vitamin B12 (Cobalamin): important for the formation of red blood cells and the production of energy. L-Carnitine: Carnitine is a substance that helps the body turn fat into energy.
Why are injections preferred over oral lipotropics?
The simplest answer is that injected lipotropics are easier for your body to absorb. Your body absorbs them more efficiently than oral lipotropics which must first be broken down by your digestive system, wasting both time and compound. Also, many oral supplements use “fillers” whereas injected lipotropics do not. Injected lipotropics are put directly into your system, bypassing digestion and allowing your body to begin using the compounds immediately.
Injection also allows for you to need dosing less frequently. Oral supplements may need to be taken sometimes multiple times a day – but lipotropic injections are typically much more concentrated and so allow for less frequent dosing. One injection per week will usually be all you need.
What results can I expect?
The lipotropic injections are not going to cause you to lose weight if you do not eat well and exercise. With weight loss, there is no magic bullet that will allow you to never exercise and live on pizza and burgers and still lose weight. Lipotropic injections are meant to supplement and support you through a balanced diet and exercise program. They will boost your metabolism; they will not burn calories all on their own. Your results, therefore, are based on the work and commitment you put in.
